Dr. Dongdong Wang is a postdoctoral associate at the Smart and Safe Transportation Lab under the direction of Prof. Mohamed Abdel-Aty at the University of Central Florida. He completed his Ph.D. in Computer Science at the same institution in 2023. His research interests encompass machine learning optimization, intelligent transportation systems, computer vision, and natural language processing. Dr. Dongdong Wang contributes to several high-impact projects that leverage advanced machine learning techniques to address practical critical issues, including crash prediction, COVID-19 infection forecasting, and tool wear prediction. He led model design and implementation teams for ATTAIN-4 Project, achieving significant crash prediction improvement in prediction accuracy and reliability. He also spearheaded the UCF COVID Projection Team, significantly advancing real-time infection predictions to support the CDC COVID-19 Forecasts. His work has also been featured in multiple media outlets, including FOX 35, WESH, and WKMG, highlighting its impact and relevance. He has authored 30 papers published in leading artificial intelligence conferences, such as CVPR and AAAI, and in prestigious journals like those from Nature Portfolio, AAP, and IEEE Intelligent Transportation Systems. His work has garnered over 480 citations. Additionally, Dr. Dongdong Wang reviewed more than 70 top AI conference and journal papers, reflecting his influential role in the research community.
